Welcome to WolfCraft Season 6!

Now in our Sixth season, WolfCraft has recovered from the Season 4 war. The war had devastated Kaelia, sending it back to medieval-era tech. But now, the New Kaelian Federation has risen from the ashes! New Kaelia is moving forward into the future with new-found technology alongside its natural magic, perfect for establishing a colony of your own.

Check out the Wolverton Crier, our in-world newspaper for the history, current events, advertisements, and announcements.

You may wish to get a job in the New Kaelian Federation, or establish your own splinter Colony…. Or maybe even take your chances attempting some magic…. Whichever path you choose, make it your own and enjoy everything the server has to offer!

Join our Discord channel to gain access to the Current Season’s Server information and be added to our whitelist. The modpack is available on CurseForge.

Getting along in peace...

  1. Whitelist. The server runs on a whitelist. You’ll need to join and participate in the Discord to be whitelisted for the Season 6 server. Make sure your username on Discord matches your player name in Minecraft – this is how we create the whitelist! Much of our out-of-character, mechanical and technical information is shared on Discord.
  2. Server Rules vs. Federal Laws. Some activities are against the server code of conduct and will get you banned from the server, temporarily or permanently. These are listed under the “Server Rules” tab, and are in the rules quiz maze you wander through when you first log onto the server. Pay close attention to these rules!
Other activities are against the “law of the land” and will result in your in-game character receiving fines, jail time, or even being executed in the town square. These are listed under the “Federal Laws” tab. You should be familiar with these guidelines.
  3. Server and player claims. You may claim any area in the Overworld, either through establishing a colony in MineColonies or FTB Claims.
FTB Claims limits you to 25 chunks, while your MineColonies claim expands with your colony. You have to actively develop the area you claim (either by founding a colony or claiming with FTB Chunks) and be active on the server to retain rights to your claim. Claims and colonies left for more than four weeks without logging in (or informing an admin) may be considered abandoned and claimed by the federation.
There are three basic types of land area on the server:
    • The federal Protectorate, which consists of the capital city of Wolverton, the villages, and other smaller structures across the world. These are clearly marked with a Wolverton colony claim or (in the case of villages) marked with a Via Romana navigation sign. You are free to trade with the villagers, use the workstations, furnaces, etc. that are available in the various communities, shop in the shopping district (or sell your goods or creations there), and generally explore within any Protectorate areas. You are also free to take whatever you find in a Lootr chest or barrel, but otherwise do not steal from these areas or break blocks within them. Griefing Protectorate structures will result in an immediate BAN.
    • Player Colonies, which are protected by the MineColonies mod. These areas show up with a color overlay in that player’s chosen color in the JourneyMap. Griefing another player’s claims or builds outside their claims (except as noted in PvP below) will result in an immediate BAN.
    • Wilderness. Everything not claimed by the Protectorate or players is considered wilderness and is free for your use and colonization. Explosion damage to blocks is disabled, so that creepers or plane crashes won’t hurt the landscape, but it will certainly blow you to bits. Feel free to adventure, gather resources, and build to your heart’s delight. We only ask that you treat the landscape with respect – don’t leave hanging treetops (sneak-right click on a tree with an axe to take it down in a single go), don’t plunder the villages, and don’t leave desolation behind when mining for resources. That’s what the Mirror World is for!
Note about dungeons in Wilderness: if you find a great dungeon, feel free to conquer it as you like. Just let a Moderator know the coordinates of the dungeon afterwards, and we can regenerate it so someone else can give it a go. Feel free to take whatever you like from Lootr containers – these are new for each player.
  4. PvP/CvC by mutual consent. Colony warfare, and the PvP involved, is only by agreement by both colonies, and follows the rules of the server. There are also regular PvP tournaments – check our Events on Discord. Deliberately harming/killing a player or their property outside these situations is a serious crime in-world, and repeat offenders will be banned from the server.
  5. Anything else? That’s it, really. Have fun and be respectful of others. Enjoy Season 6!

Server Rules

These are all BANNABLE actions. There aren’t many, but they could result in an instant and permanent BAN from the server by one of the mods.

  1. GRIEFING.
    • Intentionally destroying, altering, vandalizing, or otherwise damaging builds within the Protectorate or any player’s claimed areas. Check Is it griefing? for more information.
    • Attempting to build or expand a colony within the Protectorate or another player’s claimed area.
    • Deliberately circumventing server rules for personal gain or for the personal gain of another player.
  2. HARASSMENT.
    • Bullying, name-calling, or other harassment toward another player. Don’t be an asshole.
  3. USING NON-APPROVED MODS.
    • Our modpack is carefully balanced for fair gameplay.
    • Any extra client-side mods you want to add must be approved by an admin. A list of already-approved mods can be found here. If your desired mod is not on this list, ask a KAT!
    • Any cheats or exploits (such as X-Ray, FreeCam or similar) are expressly forbidden!
  4. AVOIDING PUNISHMENT.
    • If you do the crime, do the time. Willful disregard for the in-game law system could get you banned.

The Imperial Protectorate

These are in-game “laws of the land.”

Breaking these laws can result in in-game fines (in Federation crowns), in-game jail time, or similar punishments. BLATANT and REPEATED disregard of these laws could eventually end up in server banishment, but that would be in extreme cases.

We are still working on these laws and may add to them as the need arises.

  1. UNFAIR PvP/CvC.
    • Player-vs-player or colony-vs-colony aggression is ONLY BY CONSENT OF BOTH PARTIES! There is a PvP Register in Wolverton and on Discord. Failure to follow the PvP rules could get you hanged in the city square! This includes intentionally harming a player not registered for PvP or damaging their property.
    • Contact the Constable to register for PvP.
  2. STRIP-MINING AND DESTROYING THE OVERWORLD.
    • While mining beneath your colony claim is perfectly fine, please preserve the overworld for the community good. This means no strip-mining, destroying forests (take a tree, plant a tree) or leaving hanging treetops.
    • We have provided a Mirror World dimension where you are free to mine and plunder as you like. This dimension is regularly reset and renewed – be sure not to build anything there!
  3. MOB FARMS AND TRADING POSTS.
    • These are not allowed due to their potential for abuse as well as their stress on the server. Any automatic mob-farming system outside those in MineColonies is against the law. These will be torn down and all resources confiscated without warning by the Empire.
    • HOSTILE MOBS: If you find a hostile mob spawner, you can enclose and “farm” the mobs that spawn – however, you CANNOT set up any auto-damage or auto-kill farms. You must kill the mobs yourself.
    • VILLAGERS are the NUMBER ONE cause of server lag! The villagers and traders you come across in the world have many items to sell, and you are free to trade with those you find. However, any “trading posts” where villagers or other traders are confined is considered slavery. Slaves will be freed by the Constable without warning or compensation.
    • GENERAL GUIDELINES for animal density:

These guidelines are intended to both make conditions more “humane” and to reduce server lag.

      • 10 blocks per cow (or similar size)
      • 7 blocks per sheep or pig (-sized animal)
      • 5 blocks per chicken (-sized animal)
      • NO Villagers within a colony border. Colonies and villagers DO NOT MIX! Villagers will take over your beds and overrun the colony, causing considerable lag.
      • A general limit of 20 “permanent” mobs per chunk. (F3 + G to see chunk borders).

  4. DISTURBING THE PEACE.
    • We obviously haven’t thought of everything. If other actions become a problem they may be added to this list.

The Federal Protectorate

When you first log on to WolfCraft, you will notice that the capital city of Wolverton and its surroundings are protected by a MineColonies colony. This is the Federal Protectorate, claimed by the New Kaelian Federation itself, and under Federal rule. Other areas in the world are also claimed as protected lands.

What this means:

  1.  All areas within the Protectorate are under Federal Protection. PvP is possible in these areas, but is against the law, as the Protectorate areas should be considered “neutral” territory.
  2. There is no building or breaking blocks within the Protectorate unless under the guidance of or with the express permission of a KAT. This is to protect Wolverton and its surroundings. We’ve set up as many restrictions as we feel comfortable creating, but it may still be possible under certain conditions. However, this would be considered griefing and could get you banned from the server.
  3. Play nice, and treat the common areas with respect. THIS INCLUDES TAKING THINGS FROM ARMOUR STANDS AND ITEM FRAMES within the protected areas, regardless of whether it’s possible or not. We have ways of looking through player inventories, and will ban players who repeatedly and willfully steal from peaceful areas.

The New Kaelian Federation is planned as a persistent world, with RPG, cooperative-style gameplay, Wolverton and its surroundings are designed as a community. If you have ideas to add to Wolverton, let us know in the Discord!

The Mirror World

The server world for Season 6 is intended as a community. For this reason, we’ve set up a Mirror World dimension that is periodically reset, meaning that anything there is fair game. In the Mirror World, you are free to plunder villages, killing or capturing villagers. You are free to loot and destroy any dungeons you find, stripmine or clearcut forests for resources, and generally cause mayhem.

To access the Mirror World, place poppies in a 3×3 grid on dirt or grass and surround it by a ring of Stone Bricks. Crouch and click on a poppy with bone meal to open the portal.

We typically reset the mirror world at each modpack update, so keep this in mind when building structures or logging off when in this dimension.

Accessing the dimensions

Because of the destruction of the Great Civil War at the end of Season 4, which destroyed the world and left it barren and without life, the connections to other dimensions are unstable. This means that other dimensions – the Mirror World, the End, the Nether, and any other dimensions – could be completely wiped out (reset) at any time – keep this in mind when in other dimensions, and be sure to return to the Overworld before logging out.

Would your actions be considered griefing?

We want the world to be as player-friendly as possible, with areas intended for communal use as well as individual claims. We’ve opened up the use of items and such within the Protectorate as much as possible so that players may enjoy these areas.

HOWEVER, abusing this by deliberately altering, vandalizing, or otherwise damaging builds within the Protectorate is considered GRIEFING and could result in being banned from the server. This includes:

  • use of magic to place or alter blocks
  • Use of water buckets or lava buckets to flood areas in the Protectorate.
  • Use of the Supplementaries slingshot to place blocks within the Protectorate.
  • Changing signs or notice boards that others have placed. There are spots to place notices in the tower in the center of Wolverton.
  • Stealing from podiums, item frames, and armour stands within the Protectorate. These are decorations and not intended to be taken by players.

If you do any of these things accidentally, please return everything to the way it was – no harm, no foul.

These rules also apply generally to claimed areas of other players.

Basically, play nice. We don’t want to have to lock down any further activities.

Build your own Colony...

Founding a colony is a privilege, not a right. Players will receive an initial supply camp or ship from Mayor Dumaurier of Wolverton after earning a Settlement Decree, by fulfilling quests – “Getting Started” from your FTB Quest book. Any player circumventing the quests to begin a colony will have their colony deleted. Helping another player circumvent the quests will be considered a form of griefing.

Colony Guidelines:

  • You are free to set up a colony anywhere you like (as long as the area is not already claimed by the Empire or other player), but only in the Overworld.
  • You may not start a colony within 1000 blocks of spawn. This area is reserved for colonies of the High Council, if it is colonized at all.
  • The minimum distance between colony town halls is 35 chunks, and the maximum colony border is 25 chunks from the town hall. This ensures that colonies aren’t too crowded, and don’t interfere in one another’s expansion. Colony borders can also be seen on Journeymap.
  • Players will also be able to claim a small number of chunks with FTB Chunks, and will have priority in an area. These can be seen on Journeymap. DO NOT OVERLAP FTB Chunks claims and colony claims – this can cause your colonists to malfunction.
  • The minimium distance (560 blocks or 35 chunks) also applies between a colony and an existing FTB Chunks claim.
  • You may NOT claim a named/charted village (one with a Via Romana sign). Villages and colonies should never overlap – and village functional blocks – profession blocks or beds – should be at least 3 chunks from your colony border.
  • Check Journeymap (J) before founding a colony – claim disputes will be resolved in favor of the person who was there first. Use /mc whereami to check that you are far enough away from other colonies (560 block minimum).
KAT DECISIONS ON COLONY DISPUTES ARE FINAL AND NOT SUBJECT TO DEBATE!

If you have trouble with MineColonies functions, contact a KAT for help.

We strongly encourage sharing custom builds, so if you have a decoration, or even an entire style pack, that you’d like us to add to the server, talk to Architect Saintduma to see about its inclusion in the next update.

The Jingle of the Coins...

  • The server economy is built around Lightman’s Currency, a combination currency/wallet and buying/selling mod.
  • You begin Season 6 with a wallet and a fixed amount of cash.
  • You earn Login Rewards for the time spent playing on the server – °5 per hour online. WolfPack supporters earn additional in-game bonuses.
  • Villagers buy and sell for cash (rather than emeralds). You can find cash in the dungeons and other chests found around the world, and most humanoid mobs will also drop cash as loot.
  • You can also set up a shop to sell resources or crafted goods, or get a job in New Kaelia – there are a number of positions available (check in Wolverton).
  • There are also Bounty Boards in Wolverton and various villages to earn cash and items.

Some activities on the server may have an in-game cost like registering for tournaments, opening a shop, etc. Check in the Wolverton City Hall for details.

The Citizen's District

The Wolverton Citizen’s District is designed as a convenient location to build your own townhouse or shop to sell resources or crafted goods. Rent a plot and build as you like within its borders. Rent is a nominal °100 per 4 weeks, and you may pay ahead for 6 months at at time. If your rental expires, the plot will be considered abandoned and may be cleared.

Who does what?

The Chief Admin of WolfCraft is AnyankaT, High Councillor of the New Kaelian Federation, and is assisted by a council of KATs. While any of us are more than happy to help at any time, we do specialize in certain features:

High Councillor: AnyankaT

  • Modpack Issues
  • MineColonies / General Building
  • Lightman’s Currency and Shops

Kaelian Admin Team [KATs]…

(in alphabetical order)

Kezmodius/KezSquared, Lady_Aliah, Leelua, Mc_Builds, Wolf_Concepts, X1Shadow1.

Anyone with the [KAT] tag in-game is an employee of the New Kaelian Federation with OP privileges, and can help you out with anything you need.

Additionally, the following Council members are responsible for various areas of the server:

  • The FTB Quest system: Councillor Kezmodius
  • Shop setup and rental: High Councillor AnyankaT or Councillor Kezmodius
  • Taxes, fines, and incomes: Chief Treasurer Leelua
  • Via Romana: Lady_Aliah
  • Building in and around Wolverton: Architect Saintduma
  • Lore, Archives, and News: Scribe Elaned
Additionally, these Councillors are moderators on the Discord channel, where they are always ready to offer advice. Ask there if nobody is around in-game to assist – you’ll get your answer pretty quickly.

NOTE: The decisions of the KAT team in all matters either in-game or on Discord are FINAL and are not subject to debate. Our policies are intended to balance gameplay and make the experience better for all players. This is a PRIVATE server and your participation is at the indulgence of the Kaelian High Council. Treat the world well, and we will all get along.
